PRESS RELEASE International Workshop “The legal aspects of EU agricultural policy and the role of agricultural products in the trade relationship between EU and Moldova”

Dur­ing Sep­tem­ber 15–16, 2022 at the Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty of Moldo­va, the Inter­na­tion­al Work­shop “The legal aspects of EU agri­cul­tur­al pol­i­cy and the role of agri­cul­tur­al prod­ucts in the trade rela­tion­ship between EU and Moldo­va” was held with­in the project Fos­ter­ing Euro­pean Inte­gra­tion of the Repub­lic of Moldo­va with the spe­cif­ic accent on the agri­cul­ture sec­tor nr. 610667-PPE‑1–2019–1‑MDEPPJMO-PROIECT, orga­nized with the sup­port of the EU with­in the Eras­mus+ pro­gram Jean Mon­net action.
The event brought togeth­er par­tic­i­pants from the host coun­try and abroad: teach­ers, experts, stu­dents, stu­dents, grad­u­ates — peo­ple inter­est­ed in the Euro­pean inte­gra­tion process of the Repub­lic of Moldova.
Dur­ing the inter­na­tion­al work­shop, an overview of EU agri­cul­tur­al pol­i­cy, stan­dards, require­ments, leg­isla­tive pro­vi­sions and mech­a­nisms for imple­ment­ing reforms in this field was cre­at­ed and, in par­tic­u­lar, the legal aspects relat­ed to agri­cul­ture and rur­al devel­op­ment pro­vid­ed for in the Agree­ment on EU asso­ci­a­tion with the Repub­lic of Moldova.
The intro­duc­to­ry ses­sion was mod­er­at­ed by the EUAGRO project coor­di­na­tor, Ele­na Simciuc.
The vice-rec­tor of TUM, Daniela Pojar, who was present at the event, not­ed the impor­tance of the efforts for the acces­sion of the Repub­lic of Moldo­va to the EU and, in par­tic­u­lar, the sup­port that TUM gives itself in this regard, sup­port­ing numer­ous Euro­pean projects of its own and those that appeared togeth­er with reor­ga­ni­za­tion of the State Agrar­i­an Uni­ver­si­ty of Moldova.
Clau­dia Melinte, the Nation­al Coor­di­na­tor of the Eras­mus + Office in Moldo­va, in her speech expressed her admi­ra­tion and grat­i­tude for the activ­i­ty of the Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty of Moldo­va regard­ing the par­tic­i­pa­tion in project com­pe­ti­tions and the devel­op­ment of Euro­pean projects.
The event con­sist­ed of sev­er­al mod­ules dur­ing which mes­sages and research of unde­ni­able impor­tance to sci­en­tists and pol­i­cy mak­ers were pre­sent­ed. The con­clu­sions and rec­om­men­da­tions of this impor­tant forum will be the sub­ject of future research and projects.
