During September 15–16, 2022 at the Technical University of Moldova, the International Workshop “The legal aspects of EU agricultural policy and the role of agricultural products in the trade relationship between EU and Moldova” was held within the project Fostering European Integration of the Republic of Moldova with the specific accent on the agriculture sector nr. 610667-PPE‑1–2019–1‑MDEPPJMO-PROIECT, organized with the support of the EU within the Erasmus+ program Jean Monnet action.
The event brought together participants from the host country and abroad: teachers, experts, students, students, graduates — people interested in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova.
During the international workshop, an overview of EU agricultural policy, standards, requirements, legislative provisions and mechanisms for implementing reforms in this field was created and, in particular, the legal aspects related to agriculture and rural development provided for in the Agreement on EU association with the Republic of Moldova.
The introductory session was moderated by the EUAGRO project coordinator, Elena Simciuc.
The vice-rector of TUM, Daniela Pojar, who was present at the event, noted the importance of the efforts for the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU and, in particular, the support that TUM gives itself in this regard, supporting numerous European projects of its own and those that appeared together with reorganization of the State Agrarian University of Moldova.
Claudia Melinte, the National Coordinator of the Erasmus + Office in Moldova, in her speech expressed her admiration and gratitude for the activity of the Technical University of Moldova regarding the participation in project competitions and the development of European projects.
The event consisted of several modules during which messages and research of undeniable importance to scientists and policy makers were presented. The conclusions and recommendations of this important forum will be the subject of future research and projects.
